We are following the guidance of the UN System and the Government of Ukraine as the matter continues to develop, and are ensuring we take the necessary actions to assist in reducing its impact to the Programme.

We would like to offer an extended on-line support for our grantee-partners in reporting, grant management, joint work on risk reduction measures, as well as other emerging issues.

Knowledge Fair participants

On May 23, more than 20 civil society organizations active in the field of community policing including twelve grantees of the SPRU grant programme from six regions of Ukraine organized the Community Sustainable Development and Safety Knowledge Fair to showcase best practice and grassroots initiatives that contributed to enhanced dialogue and partnership between the police and local communities.

International Day of Rural Women 2018

 DSC0361 копия11-12 October 2017, a training on project cycle management was held for local women farmers in Zaporizhya in conjunction with International Day of Rural Women, proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations on October 15. The event was conducted by  the UNDP/GEF Small Grants Program (SGP) in Ukraine in close cooperation with  the UN Office in Ukraine, Association of Rural Women-Farmers in Zhaporizhya region, NGO “Household farming”, community members of Sokolivka, Yurkivka and Pokrovske  villages.

SGP SHARES EXPERIENCE AT GEF EXTENDED CONSTITUENCY WORKSHOPS

IMG 0108Green finance, enhancing synergies towards climate action and sustainable development on the ground, stakeholder engagement and gender mainstreaming were some of the topics covered in the GEF Extended Constituency Workshops organized by the secretariat of the Global Envrironment Facility (GEF). In partnership with the GEF, the UNDP implemented Small Grants Programme (SGP) has been sharing its results and experience at the last two workshops for the Eastern Europe and South American constituencies which took place from March 6-9 in Lviv, Ukraine and from March 14-17 in Brasilia, Brazil, respectively. GEF SGP KNOWLEDGE FAIR

IMG 020718 October 2016, GEF SGP in Ukraine conducted 2nd Knowledge Fair on the territory of “National naturalist ecological youth center” in Kyiv.

The Knowledge Fair enabled SGP grantees and other CSO stakeholders to share and showcase best practices, innovative technologies and lessons learned from the civil society to promote the replication and scaling up the results for greater policy influence and transformational change; as well as to promote sustainability and mobilization of additional resources for community-based sustainable development initiatives.

GEF SGP Ukraine conducted a Workshop on Project Cycle Management

IMG 74937-8 June 2016, GEF SGP Ukraine conducted a Workshop on Project Cycle Management for CSOs representatives in Ivankiv, Kyiv region. The town is located in the center of one of SGP target landscapes “Kyiv and Zhytomyr Polissya”.

Almost 40 representatives of CSOs and local communities of Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Rivne regions learned all stages of grant project preparation, implementation, evaluation, and reporting.  Experts acknowledge participants on new SGP landscape approach in the GEF OP 6, GEF Focal Areas, environmental challenges, and possible solutions for Zhytomyr and Kyiv Polissya communities.
