Every year on May 22, we celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity. This year's theme is “Be part of the plan”.
The theme of this year's Biodiversity Day calls on governments, indigenous peoples, local communities,non-governmental organizations, legislators, businesses and individuals to actively support the implementation of the Biodiversity Plan.
The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), which is a key international instrument for sustainable development, emphasizes the importance of collective efforts to conserve biological diversity. Each of us can be part of this important process by supporting the #PartOfThePlan campaign.
This year's celebration also aims to raise awareness ahead of the sixteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 16), which will take place in Colombia from October 21 to November 1, 2024.
We invite everyone to join in the celebration of the Day for Biological Diversity by using promotional materials and spreading awareness of the importance of preserving our planet.
