Call for Nominations: Equator Prize 2025 – Nature for Climate Action

The UNDP Equator Initiative has launched the Equator Prize 2025 to honor outstanding community and Indigenous initiatives advancing nature-based solutions for sustainable development. Winners will receive USD 10,000 and gain access to global policy dialogues and special events.

 

Nomination Deadline: February 23,2025

Who can apply? Community-led projects focused on climate mitigation, adaptation, resilience, and a just transition.

All-Ukrainian Environmental Forum «Children for Environment: The Future We Want!"

1On October 9 and 10, 2013, the city of Sarny in Rivne region of Ukraine hosted the All-Ukrainian Environmental Forum  «Children for Environment: The Future We Want!", supported by the UNDP/GEF Small Grants Programme within the framework of the GEF SGP Project “Ecological education of youth as a method to combat climate change”. The Forum was organised by the Children NGO "Environmental Club “Sprout” and other public organizations from the GEF SGP Non-governmental network in Ukraine. Words of sincere gratitude and support of the Forum participants were expressed in welcoming speeches by the Chief specialist of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of the Rivne Oblast State Administration V.S.Sovhut, Deputy Head of the Sarny District Administration T.Y. Sukhareva, the Sarny Mayor S.M. Yevtoshok, Vice President for Scientific and Educational Work of the State Environmental Academy of Postgraduate Education and Management V.E. Baranovska, Chairperson of the GEF SGP Steering Committee O.Yu. Brodsky, Director of the Sarny gymnasia school T.S. Shepel.
